Joe Leintz
CEO and Founder, Metro Building Companies

CEO and Founder of Metro Building Companies, as well as co-founder of Jymrsa LLC. A graduate of Orono High School, Joe is an integral part of his community, having run the Orono Baseball Program for eight years, and the Lake Minnetonka Athletic Association (which supports 2500 to 3000 youth football players annually) for twelve years.
     Joe was trained as a journeyman carpenter through the Minneapolis carpenters’ local union, and has worked as superintendent on large projects such as the Rapid City Regional Hospital and the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. With 40 years of construction experience, Joe often serves as an expert witness in his field, as he understands the intricacies of both the commercial and residential construction industry.
     Joe founded and operated Royal homes from 1990 to 1995, with developments in Ramsey, Maple Grove, Lakeville and St. Paul. Joe’s favorite pastimes are coaching, fishing, and hunting.
     Joe is also the Co-founder of Jymrsa LLC, a company whose products kill “super bugs” such as MRSA, Influenza A and B, VISA, VRE, Pseudomonas, Salmonella, E.Coli, Anthrax as well as mold. This product also works to eliminate odors from fire and water occurrences.

Ed Jacobson
Project Manager

Graduating from Orr High School, Ed served in the United States Army for six years. Ed has 46 years of construction experience, 29 years at Interior Construction designing and installing computer floor systems, clean rooms and modular wall systems. For five of those years, Ed lived and worked in Madison, Wisconsin as sales and office manager. He has spent the last (17) seventeen years with Metro Building Companies, working in the capacity of Senior Project Manager and Vice President. Outside of work, Ed is an avid gardener, chef, golfer and fisherman, having fished extensively in Northern Minnesota and Canada.

Marc Andersen
Project Manager

Marc graduated from Armstrong High School in 1974 as class Valedictorian. He played two years of baseball while attending the University of Arizona, and then transferred to the University of Minnesota. Although accepted to law school in the fall of 1979, Marc instead spent the next 10 years as Regional Manager for Total Petroleum. Marc has spent the last 17 years working both in the field and as a project Manager for Metro Building Companies. He is a sports a enthusiast, with a true passion for walleye fishing. Marc spent fifteen years as one of Minnesota's top officials in both basketball and softball.

Jeffrey Leintz
Project Manager

After graduating from The Blake School in 2004 Jeff attended Vanderbilt University, majoring in Economics and History. Jeff has worked for Metro Building Companies for four years, both in project management and in the field, gaining first hand knowledge of how a project should be run. Jeff played baseball, basketball and football throughout high school, achieving high accolades in each as well as being an official for both youth football and baseball. He is an avid golfer and a lake enthusiast.

Eric Ernst
Project Manager

After graduating from Mayer Lutheran High School in 1988, Eric attended St. Cloud University. Eric's experience include 20 in construction experience, 15 years in roofing, and five years framing and siding. Eric has completed thousands of residential and commercial roofs. Eric enjoys hunting and fishing, and after spending 15 years as an amateur baseball player he now serves as a youth baseball coach.

Sue Nerud
Special Projects Team

Our equine specialist has been active personally and professionally in the equine industry for over 28 years. Currently living on a horse farm in Buffalo, Minnesota, Sue understands the many facets of the equine industry as few do. Her career includes experience working the backside of numerous thoroughbred racetracks across the country, selling farm and ranch equine mortality insurance, industry-consulting and market positioning. Sue currently oversees a sale’s staff that sells and markets equine products, services, and solutions to the industry at large.

Mark Lentz
Special Projects Team

Mr. Lentz is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison, with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He is a frequent Speaker at ASHRAE Annual and Winter Meetings and has been very active with respect to ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 62.1. He is a member or corresponding member of six ASHRAE Technical Committees and has served as Chairman of ASHRAE Technical Committee 9.8-Large Building Air Conditioning Applications, and Vice Chairman of ASHRAE TC 5.7-Evaporative Cooling. Mr. Lentz has received numerous national engineering awards, including several major awards from ASHRAE.

Judy Pugh
Special Projects Team

Graduating from the University of Iowa, Judy has worked as a lab technician, mechanic, farmer, and most recently as an insurance claim’s adjuster for the past 20 years. Ms. Pugh is an avid fan of mystery novels and is an exceptional bridge player who enjoys classical music. Her position with Metro Building Companies is that of renewable energy consultant and healthy building coordinator. She will work in conjunction with Metro’s project management team as well as Mark Lentz in order to guarantee the highest quality environment in schools, hospitals, office and apartment buildings. Ms. Pugh has done extensive research on wind turbines, solar energy generation, and green roofs. These methods will be incorporated with our super high-efficiency heating and air conditioning systems. The combination of these alternative energy sources will generate enormous energy savings for their respective owners. More importantly, these alternative energy methods will significantly reduce American dependency on fossil fuels.
